After a number of past appearances we thought it good and well to give Nina Fourie-Gouws her very own spotlight. It was a big “Thank you, Nina!” for contributing so much during our early days and helping us to lay our marker down. Once again exhibiting her virtuosic brand of Classical Guitar playing, she showed why she is equally comfortable in the company of such composers as Bach and Haydn, and their contemporary counterparts like Leo Brouwer or Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco.
This event formed part of Women’s Month celebrations in South Africa so we decided to help raise awareness for the wonderful people at Rape Crisis who do such excellent and crucial work in helping rape survivors in Cape Town. Also in support of Women’s Month, Nina invited special guests Megan van der Merwe and Chloe Murphy along for an all female, all guitar trio.
