PHASE 1

PLEDGES

A pledge is like buying an early-bird ticket but with the difference
that it literally makes the event possible.

Use our Campaign Calculator to work out how many pledges you need for the event to happen and ensure that you cover your costs. Please note that income from pledges must be enough to cover the City Soirée fixed fee (see below for details).

Once you’ve finalised all details and logistics around your event we will create an event page for you where your guests can get more info and pledge.

We suggest launching your campaign 3-4 weeks before the date of the event. Set the deadline for pledges a week before the date of event to allow you enough time to sell the remaining ‘general tickets’.

When guests pledge they will receive a ‘Pledge Confirmation’ email with basic information. Tickets will be issued via the ‘Event Confirmation’ email with all necessary details once the target has been reached.

Tip from the CS Team:
The first 3 and last 3 days of your campaign are the most important. This is when most pledges will come in so plan your marketing strategy around these days.
Also try and launch your campaign on Mon, Tue or Wed for best audience engagement.

PHASE 2

GENERAL TICKETS

Once the pledge target has been reached, and there is space
for more guests at your event, we release General Tickets.

Make pledges cheaper than general tickets. Guests who make the event possible deserve the best deal and it also encourages fans to get on board early.

To know how much to charge for general tickets, we suggest increasing the pledge amount by anything between 20% and 35%.

Tickets will be issued via email upon purchase along with all necessary details about the event.

Guests are asked to print their tickets or present it via a smartphone. On the day of your event we will also send you the list of attendees so that you know who is coming.

 

 

Tip from the CS Team:
Once you’ve hit the pledge target you will have momentum and the pledgers will be just as excited as you are.
So keep up your marketing efforts to ensure more ticket sales!

 

WHAT ARE THE FEES?


 

FIXED FEE

Instead of a commission on each pledge and general ticket we have a fixed fee of R650 for events with 150 attendees or less.

If you get just 5 pledges at R130 our fee is covered. We really want to make your life easier!

Please note that income from pledges must be enough to cover the fixed fee. If the pledge target isn’t reached by the deadline date that you set we will refund all pledgers and no fee will be charged.

For events that has more than 150 attendees we charge a 7% commission but only on tickets sold after 150 and a maximum of 250* (fixed fee still applicable).

TRANSACTION FEE

All our online payments are safely and securely handled by PayFast.
PayFast charges 3.9% plus R2.00 per transaction.

We need 2-4 business days to get the money from PayFast and transfer it to your account as well as provide you with a detailed income statement once the event has taken place.

*Our focus is on small and niche events so please get in touch if you would like to discuss an event for more than 250 attendees.
