SECRET SOIRÉE

Pick your favourite South African band or solo artists to perform. We’ll contact them to check availability, set a date that works for everyone and manage the whole thing.

Check if you have enough space. Do you have a room in your home that can hold 30 to 60 people? Use couches, chairs, cushions on the floor — whatever is available! Remember to keep enough performance space for the artists. Guests are asked to bring their own drinks and glasses.

Each Secret Soirée has a target of 30 pledges needed for it to happen so make sure to spread the word. As soon as the target is reached, and if there is more space, we will make general tickets available for fans who missed out on pledging. Only fans who pledge or purchase general tickets will receive your address via email. We won’t ever publish it and tickets aren’t sold at the door.

Why Secret Soirée? Living room concerts are an excellent way to connect with your closest fans, sell merchandise, fill open dates on tour, or perform on nights that you would not normally play. By taking your music directly to your fans it also opens up opportunities to perform outside of traditional centres.

Each event needs 30 pledges to be confirmed. After that general tickets are made available based on the capacity of the venue. Pledges are cheaper than general tickets so that we can give the fans who make the event possible the best deal. We will work with you to decide on a price for pledges and general tickets.

We require artists interested in performing to have at least 1000 likes on Facebook. However, we don’t want to exclude up-and-coming performers who are still building a following so these artists can instead collaborate with another act to ensure that there is a big enough community of fans to market the event to. It’s important to note that marketing is a combined effort between City Soirée, the artist and the host.
