40 Fans have pledged to makes this event possible. General tickets now available!

Click here to find out how it works.

Drawingrooms is a series of secret one-night-only crowdfunded art exhibitions in the homes of fans.

Each person who pledges will get a limited edition hand-made postcard by the artist mailed to them before the event.

Please note: general ticket purchases do not come with a limited edition post card.

All the money from the pledges will go into a “pot” and one lucky attendee’s name will be drawn at the end of the night. That person will get to select one piece of art, or a collection of art works, to a guaranteed minimum value of R4 000 (total amount from pledges). The draw will take place at 21:00 and should the person who’s name is drawn not be present, they will forfeit their chance and another name will be drawn.

Works on display will be available for sale. If all pieces are sold out by 21:00 the winner will have the opportunity to commission a work from the artist to the value of the money in the “pot”.

As if all of this isn’t enough, we will throw in a chocolate and beer tasting with Leopold7 providing delicious Belgian beer and CocoáFair bringing the perfect organic chocolate to go with it! CocoáFair will also have a limited edition chocolate for sale covered in a beautiful print by the artist, in a flavour picked by the artist.

#walkfastwhistle is an exhibition of images – all shot on an iPhone – by Sam Reinders.

Who is Sam Reinders you ask? She’s a photographer. And an editor, a curator, and an Instagram addict. She’s a lover of dust and a good G&T. Her muse is the Karoo – and Cape Town and Kathmandu. All of these things, and a few others, are found in her photographs. Some are whimsical, some melancholic and some are of, well, camels, holy men and milktarts…

Sam’s career has taken her across the world and back. She’s photographed presidents and penguins, meerkats and mermaids. And a few things in-between.

The photographs are all inspired by Walk Fast Whistle – a poem by Toast Coetzer, a best friend and oft time collaborator. They’re all shot on her cellphone while walking, and exploring, always with the lines from the poem in her head: travel alone/travel far/travel to the point/where you swivel on your heel/and remember/where you come from/who you are/why you came.
