Nina Fourie-Gouws

Nina Fourie-Gouws, a part time lecturer at the Conservatory, University of Stellenbosch, holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Music Performance (graduated Cum Laude from UCT), as well as a Bachelor of Music Degree (UP) and a Classical Guitar Teaching Licentiate (UNISA). In 2012 she was invited to perform in the Volterra Project Summer School in Tuscany, Italy, and has received masterclasses from many of the world’s leading guitarists, including Carlos Bonell, Nikita Koshkin, Craig Ogden, Aldo la Grutta, Štěpán Rak, Goran Krivokapic, and Antigoni Goni.

Murray Kuun

Murray was born in 1952 and designed his first “piece” at age 6, a bedside lamp made from pine tomato box wood. He never stopped designing from that day. His father being a pianist meant that there was always music in house, which would eventually lead Murray to combine his love for design and his love for music into a highly individualistic style of instrument making. Murray has also been designing furniture since 1982.

“I design and handmake only my own original design instruments, I am not keen on making copies or near copies of instruments that have been copied ad nauseam by many thousands of luthiers around the world.”
